The Gate of the Pure Land

We unite the Eightfold Noble Path with a deep understanding of emptiness, Buddha Nature, and the Pure Land. Once we understand emptiness —that all notions of subject and object, self and selves, phenomena and characteristics are mere transformations of consciousness only— we develop faith in Buddha Nature, our true essence, enlightened since before the beginning, incorruptible.

Confident in the reality of Buddha Nature, we then enter that mental state where we manifest original enlightenment. The Pure Land is the manifestation of Buddha Nature; the field of action of Buddha Nature is the Pure Land.

Certain of our own liberation and enlightenment, we then dedicate ourselves to the cultivation of the Mahayana, the Great Way to universal liberation and enlightenment. We enter the Eightfold Path through the gate of the Pure Land. —TN
