Buddha Power and Self Power

62059806_327634548164792_8708447853686554624_nThe power of the Buddha and the power of the sentient being (self-power) are non-different and cannot be opposed. Abandoning the wrong views of separation and duality, these two powers are merely aspects of the manifestation of the Buddha’s Life and Light, His wisdom and compassion.

In fact, self-power is misconstrued Buddha Power. All that has been, is now, and will be attained in Dharma cultivation is only the expression of the inherent Buddha Nature of sentient beings.

There is no self-power, absent Buddha Power. When the expression of this power is partially concealed by incidental stains, we call it self-power. When the expression of this power is unhindered, we call it Buddha Power. —TN
