Arrogance

To truly understand the Dharma, we must be able to silence our discursive thoughts, to stand peacefully and quietly under the teaching, not making judgments from our limited perspective of what seems to our modern eyes to be incorrect or “a mere cultural vestige”  —as if our hasty speculations were superior to the mature realizations of the Buddha Shakyamuni and the great Masters.
