Refuge

3.1979.191 (1)Taking refuge is turning away from separation and supremacy,

forsaking pleasure and pain, gain and loss, fame and insignificance, praise and censure,

and renouncing all delusions of self-power.

I take refuge in what is, as it is, in Suchness.

I take refuge in True Purity, True Being, True Bliss, and True Permanence;

in the Buddha within and without; in the Name that is non-dual Truth.

I take refuge in Amideva Tathagata, Boundless Light and Life, the primordial Buddha.

I take refuge in His Name, the recollection of my own true nature, the unfailing Dharma.

I take refuge in all who have transcended birth and death, the embracing Sangha.
