Futility

I will be separated from my closest friends;
others will enjoy the wealth I accumulated in my miserliness;
even this body that I hold so dear will be left behind,
and my consciousness will wander without direction in the intervals of samsara.

Lama, think of me; behold me swiftly with compassion!
Bless me that I may realize the futility of this life.
