Roots

rootsTwo wrong views are at the root of all unwholesome acts: self-grasping (the wrong view of separation and individuality), and self-cherishing (the wrong view of supremacy).

All forms of oppression, whether perpetrated against humans or other sentient beings, arise from separation and supremacy.

Buddhist teaching and practice must aim to replace these wrong views with the wisdom of Interdependence and Equality.
