Shamatha and Vipashyana

11053432_491236277698508_16918118238809981_nBy letting the mind rest of its own accord, all subtle and gross thoughts repose and subside in their original condition. Then a calm abiding of the mind naturally occurs. This is called shamatha.

In its unimpeded radiance, the natural lucidity, a vivid nakedness takes place. This is called vipashyana.
