To Overcome Suffering

1467272_549254828492930_841537995_nJust as we cannot quench our thirst

by listening to the sound of water

and watching it flow past,

we cannot overcome our suffering

simply by listening to teachings

and understanding them intellectually,

without realizing them in meditation.

Tashi, when we realize suffering in meditation, does it go away (dissolve)? Or do we just see it differently? Is it a shift of perspective?

I would like to read the full Sutra (King of Concentration). Do you have a recommendation of where to obtain a copy? Is this part of the second or third turning of the wheel? Application is everything !
