“What is this Mara, the Enemy?”

1506255_10152134544959712_1799758576_oForm, feeling, perception, mental formations, and consciousness are Mara,

are the state of Mara, are impermanent, are temporary,

are suffering, are painful, are not real, are impersonal,

are in a state of destruction, are vanishing, are unstable,

are always ceasing, vanishing right here and now.

We should therefore eliminate any desire, any lust, and any attraction.

We should leave behind all desire and lust for whatever is a state of Mara,

for whatever is impermanent, for whatever is only a temporary appearance,

for whatever is suffering, for whatever is painful,

for whatever is not real, for whatever lacks its own nature,

for whatever is in a state of destruction, for whatever is vanishing,

for whatever is arising, for whatever is ceasing.

—Buddha Shakyamuni

Tashi…does this mean that when you’ve left all behind that is Mara, all that will remain is Buddha Nature? Is this why Lucifer has his own realm, separate from true light?

    Thank you. PKL
