If a man or a woman, while dwelling in silence, discards all distracting thoughts and, facing West, sits upright; if then, without forming in the mind any image, he or she single-mindedly recites Buddha Amideva’s Name; and if the recitation continues uninterrupted, then he or she will be able to see all the Buddhas of the past, present, and future.
