 Aspiration

May what I’m about to do yield favorable results.

May it give me the capacity to benefit others.

May it help me overcome ignorance and limitation.

May it clear away all obstacles on the path.

May it lead me to the union of wisdom and compassion.

May I accomplish my own benefit, the benefit of others, and Great Benefit.

Refuge and Bodhichitta

With the wish to free all beings, I go for refuge

To the Buddha, the Dharma, and the Sangha,

Until all reach full Enlightenment.

Enthused by wisdom and compassion,

Now, in the presence of the Awakened,

I generate Great Purpose

For the benefit of all sentient beings.

As long as space endures,

As long as sentient beings remain,

May I also remain and dispel all their suffering.

Seven Branch Prayer

Residing in the unborn expanse of reality,

Inseparable from the Pure Bodies of Truth, Glory, and Compassion

Are the Holders of the Lineage of Definitive Meaning,

The awareness of my own true nature.

Acceptance of Natural Perfection is my unconditional prostration.

I make extensive offerings without concepts of giving and receiving.

I confess all unskillful actions and abandoned commitments

And rejoice in the complete transcendence of the cycle of suffering.

Please turn the Three Wheels of Pure Dharma!

I pray that You remain in Your unchanging nature

And dedicate all accumulations of merit to Great Benefit.

Prayer to the Buddha Guru Shakyamuni

On the level of Absolute Truth, free of going, coming, and abiding,

Beyond the convention of form, pervading all directions and times,

The best, the original condition of all dharmas,

I go to Buddha Guru Dharmakaya for refuge.

Buddha, Bhagavan, Tathagata, Arhant,

Truly fully accomplished Buddha,

Having the wit and the walk, Sugata, World-Knower,

Leader who disciplines born beings,

None-higher, Teacher of gods and men,

This very Buddha Bhagavan.

The one recollected as the Victor, Shakyamuni,

Conquering the four māras, six kalpas old,

The ultimate mode of existence, unerring,

Conquers affliction together with its careless production.

Cleansing away all moral faults,

Possessing all wisdom,

Knowing the three times in all their excellent fullness,

Abandoning illusion, Pervader reaching to the limits of space,

Having accomplished the best means, obtains the highest end.

Knowing evil actions and pain, the extreme of suffering,

Having the means to tame all beings,

Who is greater than or equal to You? None.

You perform actions that teach the path of liberation to all.

The dharmakaya of all Buddhas,

Continuing unchanged, having all virtues,

From the start liberated from all evils,

The Liberator dwells perpetually, pervading both realities.

Eternally inaccessible to all conceptual viewpoints,

In me this very Dharmakaya of the Conqueror dwells.

Just as a flower has a dance and a flower has a smell,

So also the two Form Bodies are not separate from Self.

The One who has totally accomplished all the marks of perfection,

Buddha Bhagavan has come to dwell in my heart.

This very One is the Holy Root Teacher.

Radiant Guru Buddha Bhagavan,

Dharmakaya’s singularity, equal in extent to space,

Pray, give me Your blessing.

This is the own-being of all dharmas, the original wisdom,

The radiant Guru’s heart, the Dharmakaya.

All Buddhas same-tasting, non-dual,

To Guru Dharmakaya I pray.

Discriminations, machinations, and elaborations powerless,

The One who disciplines shows the Body of Amitābha.

The Form Body arises in the shape of a Holy Noble Friend.

To You who are the Vajra-Holder’s power, I pray.

Five families of Conquerors, original, spontaneously present,

Appear otherwise for the benefit of sentient beings.

Liberation that disciplines the aggregates, liberating all,

To You I pray.

To dharmata, primordially the Tathagata,

The Sattva YabYum, the Heroes and Dakinis,

To the discipline using the four elements and the senses,

And to the Teacher of that discipline, I pray.

None other than the own-being of all, original wisdom,

Free of concept, this dharmakaya is called “space-pervading.”

Dear Dharma Lord, to Your heart, Your Vajra-Holder power, I pray.

Absolute Truth is originally self-arising as the three levels of existence.

As the face of appearances to be tamed, that existence is all glowing appearance.

Not without truth, its taming makes for a perpetually blessed happiness.

To You whose activities are spontaneously present and simultaneous, I pray.

Precious Root Guru, You who are the own-being of the whole standing and moving world,

You are the reality of all the Buddhas of the ten directions and the three times.

May You who dwell as the heart essence of all living beings,

Bless me with the union of wisdom and compassion.

Prayer to the Omniscient Dolpopa

You embody the blessings of the Body, Speech, and Mind

Of the Buddhas of the three times and the ten directions.

You are the Lord of the Ocean of Definitive Meaning,

The wisdom emanation of Buddha Vajrasattva,

The boundless light of Buddha Amitabha,

And the loving glance of the Lord of Compassion and the Mother of Mercy.

I pray to You, Supreme Lord: Peerless Dolpopa, regard me with affection!
