Vain Repetition

We have spoken many untrue, unhelpful words throughout our lives. With Dharma sutras, prayers, and mantras, we have the opportunity to speak that which is true, timely, and beneficial to ourselves and others.

Repetition is only vain if we make it so through inattention. When we recite with aspiration, vigor, and concentration, the sacred words of the Dharma pierce through the veils of wrong views and afflicted emotions.
