As a disciple of the Buddha, I must not trade in intoxicants or encourage others to do so. I must not create the causes, conditions, methods, or karma of trafficking in any intoxicant whatsoever, for intoxicants are the causes and conditions of all kinds of offenses.
As the Buddha’s disciple, I must help all sentient beings achieve clear wisdom. If instead, I cause them to have inverted thinking, I commit a major offense.
