Wherever I go…

Attachments are always painful, whether to ‘good’ or ‘bad’ people, things, or situations.

If we stay or go, and whatever else we do, it must be our choice, our decision, and for our own benefit. Family and friends are a part of life, but cannot be our life.

We can say this phrase with emphasis on different parts:

Wherever I go, there I am.

Wherever I go, there I am.

If we are not content by ourselves, we cannot be content with others. We can be distracted by them for a while, but when they leave —and they always do— we’re by ourselves again.

If we don’t like what we are and how we are, we can change that. It might take time and effort, but everything changes. What we cannot ever do is run away, because the one from whom we run is right behind us. It is our shadow.
